Royal Enfield Model A from 1931. 225cc engine, two gears. Royal Enfield was the name under which Enfield Cycle Co. made motorcycles, bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines. The company was established in 1893 (see Enfield. The Beginning) to manufacture bicycles and weapons. Their military experience is reflected in the logo (a cannon) and the motto: "Made like a gun, goes like a bullet".
