The Moto Guzzi Zigolo was launched in 1953 with a 98 cc two-stroke engine. It was the first Moto Guzzi motorcycle partially covered with plates. The engine was a single cylinder with a horizontal aluminum cylinder head and a cast-iron cylinder. Zigolo was designed by Antonio Micucci, who joined Moto Guzzi in 1942 (before, he worked for Olivetti). The bike was meant to fill the gap between 65cc Guzzino and 175cc Galletto. In 1960 the engine was enlarged to 110cc. Production ended in 1966.
