This British company was formed in 1892 in Wolverhampton by William Hobart Bird. After 1897, they were operating in Coventry. At first Hobart was a bicycle manufacture. From 1901 to 1905 and from 1910 to 1923 they were producing their own motorized bikes. They were also suppliers to the other companies (see: McKenzie-Hobart). After 1913 Hobart was using JAP engines in some of their motorbikes. In 1923 the company was taken over by Rex-Acme and became Hobart-Acme Motors.
