Chaise auxiliary engine.

Maurice Chaise began his career with Rhone (later Gnome et Rhone) where he worked from 1907 to 1921. In 1921 he started his own business, producing motorcycles and engines. Chaise engines were often used by other motorcycle manufacturers including Automoto, Genial-Lucifer, Koehler-Escoffier, Le Grimpeur, Majestic, New Map, Nover, Prester, Roussey and Soyer. The factory also produced a variety of horizontally-opposed fours for nautical and aviation use. The production ceased in 1939, when the war broke out.
